Day 2 Photos - Memphis, TN

Photo 3 - Teens in front of the balcony where MLK was assassinated. Photo 4 - Teens talking to Jackie, the lone protestor of the National Civil Rights Museum (originally the Lorraine Motel). Jackie has been there for over 20 years boycotting the museum. Photo 5 - Teens in front of the Lorraine Motel where MLK was assassinated.

Wow, STAX Records!! I'm officially jealous because as big of a music buff as I am, I've never been. A lot of people only think of Motown when they think of the black soul music movement, but Stax had more of the southern appeal, while Motown had more crossover-friendly artists. I hope your students take away some knowledge from this trip, there is a lot to be learned. Proud of you Jess!!
